My dear friend Terrie Stong of Good Bears of the World was at the show in Kansas City this weekend and she decided to bring along this picture of me. Terrie is one of the first people I talked to when I was getting into the bear world and teddy bear shows and I met her at my first bear show which took place in Toledo, OH. This picture is of me next to my table at my first show. You can see a couple of my bears off to the right and I made the dragon that I am holding. I was probably about 15 at the time, so nearly 11 years ago. Wow, how time flies! (And changes your appearance... haha).

Off To Kansas City - Auction Piece
Hello Everyone!
It has been a while since I've posted. I haven't had as much time to work on bears lately because the school year has started and I've been giving a lot of time to my job, but I am heading away this weekend to the annual Kansas City Jubilee! The show is tomorrow, September 24th from 10AM - 4PM. Please visit http://www.teddybearjubilee.com for more information!
This year's theme is the magic of teddy bears. There is a banquet and charity auction for Good Bears of the World tonight and I made a special piece to go with the theme just for the auction. Let me introduce to you 'Houdini's Hat Trick':
The bunny's name is Dash (which was Houdini's brother's name). Dash is an 8" bunny made out of an ivory alpaca. He has light topaz colored eyes with tan ultrasuede eyelids, feet, and inner ears. His nose and whiskers are made of a brown perle cotton. He is fully jointed and wears a dark grey herringbone printed vest with a silver button. He is sitting in a black felt top hat. He comes with the white magician's glove which is pulling him from the hat and there is also a magician's wand handmade of clay with bead accents on the tip (not pictured).
I hope to see you this weekend!
